FORGIVENESS

Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, "You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. Should you not also have had compassiion on your fellow servant; just as I had pity on you?" And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him. "So my heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses." ...Matt. 18:32-35 (NKJV)

We as Christians/Believers are to be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving to one another. "As God in Christ also has forgiven you" (Eph. 4:32).  There is a reward to forgiveness and there is a cost of refusing to forgive. Some people believe that to forgive shows they are weak or it excuses the persons' actions. If you feel like you don't want to forgive the person who hurt you, then it becomes more about you than the person who hurt you.  If we are willing to forgive but unable to forget, have we truly forgiven? When we forgive, we might see our heart becoming pure. When that happens, we shall see God.  (Matt. 5:8)
